nick’s best chocolate chip cookies

1 cup softened butter
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon water
2 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Cream butter, sugars, vanilla and water. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Add flour, baking soda and slowly work into the creamed mixture. Continue to mix until batter is moist and smooth. Add chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheets and bake in a 325 oven for 13 minutes. Makes 7 dozen cookies; 6 dozen if you snack on the dough!
